What is Oeko Tex Standard 100
The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. Items are tested to ensure that they do not contain any Harmful substances, these include;
* known harmful (but not legally regulated) chemicals
* legally regulated substances
* illegal substances
* as well as parameters for health care
The full OEKO-TEX® testing parameters well exceed any national legislation.
Examples for items eligible for certification: Raw and dyed/finished yarns, raw and dyed/finished fabrics and knits, ready-made articles (all types of clothing, domestic and household textiles, bed linen, terry cloth items, textile toys, mattresses and more).
We are not aware of any UK mattress manufacturer conforming to the The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 , however all the mattresses we supply from Relaxsan in Italy conform fully with this standard.
Some mattresses from Relaxsan are coated with Teflon to help with stain resistance and OEKO-TEX® have no issues with this, however if you would rather not have a Teflon coating, just chose either the Deluxe or Vision models.
