Burgess Beds

The Highgrove, the ultimate in handmade-pocketed mattresses, has had no expense spared in either materials, time or craftsmanship to provide you with years of sumptuous comfort.
The Highgrove is upholstered with a Hessian insulator which is hand stitched to the spring, layers of white cotton, layers of loose wool, "hand teased", loose; long stranded white hair, layers of pure new lambs wool and extra soft waxed cotton cambric to prevent hair migration.
The Highgrove is finished with four rows of hand side stitching by craftsmen, giving meticulous attention to detail. After upholstering the mattress is tufted with worsted wool tufts attached by hand with twine. Six reinforced flag stitched handles are added to double sizes along with solid brass ventilators, which allow the mattress to breathe.

The Sandringham is a Burgess beds classic and has been made in a very similair form for the last 30 years, the main difference now is that a King size Sandringham now contains 1480 springs upgraded from 1200 springs originally.
The mattress upholsterey consists of a Hessian insulator which is hand stitched to the spring, layers of white cotton felt, layers of rolled, long stranded white hair, layers of pure Lambs wool, layers of loose wool and a layer of DP Cambric to prevent hair migration.
The mattress is then finished of with a border finished with two rows of hand side stitching by craftsmen. Four reinforced flag stitched handles are added to all sizes along with solid brass ventilators, which allow the mattress to breathe. After upholstering the mattress is tufted with white felt washers attached by hand with cotton popins.
This is all supported by a 12" or 14" sprung edge base.
